Gus Dean went into this weekend’s CARS Super Late Model Tour event hoping for a good finish at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, North Carolina.  Instead, it was a long day as they fought a very loose car, but learned some things for their next event.

“We struggled all day with a loose car,” Dean recalled.  “It was so bad, that we pulled it out of impound after qualifying to make adjustments on the car and started in the rear of the race.  Which is a good thing, because we avoided the big wreck at the beginning.”

Dean and his crew chief Petey Hinson decided to use the race as a test session.

“Petey and I have been talking about trying some different things on the car and we decided to go ahead try them at Orange County Speedway,” Dean explained.  “We made some gains on the car and we hope to further those gains when we go to Myrtle Beach this weekend for the PASS South event.”

Dean is eager to return to his home State of South Carolina this weekend.

“Myrtle Beach is my second home track and we tend to run good there.  We hope to turn our season around and get a strong finish.”

PASS South’s Bash at the Beach is this Saturday, April 25th at Myrtle Beach Speedway in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
